PHILADELPHIA — Rasheer Fleming contributed significantly to Saint Joseph’s victory over UMass, scoring 16 points in an 81-72 win on Tuesday.
In addition to his scoring, Fleming also grabbed six rebounds for the Hawks, who improved their record to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Erik Reynolds II followed with 14 points, although he faced challenges in his shooting, finishing 5-for-17 and making only 2 of his 11 attempts from three-point range.
Meanwhile, Dasear Haskins, Anthony Finkley, and Xzayvier Brown each contributed 11 points to the team’s performance.

On the opposing side, Rahsool Diggins put forth a stellar performance for the Minutemen, recording 33 points while Daniel Rivera added 23 points and secured nine rebounds for UMass, which now stands at 5-9 with a conference record of 0-1.
Fleming’s strong start was evident as he netted 13 of his points in the first half, helping Saint Joseph’s take a 37-33 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Finkley emerged as a crucial player for the Hawks, leading the team with 10 points in that period.
