CLEMSON, S.C. — Quarterback Cade Klubnik has decided to return for his fourth and final season with the Clemson Tigers instead of entering the NFL draft. His announcement, made on social media Monday night, comes on the heels of a successful season where he played a crucial role in leading Clemson to both the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and the College Football Playoff.

Being in his second full season as the starting quarterback, Klubnik showcased his skills by throwing for a total of 36 touchdowns, ranking third nationally, with just six interceptions. He managed to average 260 passing yards per game, contributing to the Tigers’ overall record of 10-4.

“The story isn’t over. See y’all in 2025,” he posted on X, reflecting his intention to stay with the team for another year. Klubnik’s record as a starter now stands at 19 wins and 9 losses, and he was honored as the MVP in both the 2022 and 2024 ACC championship games.

In a standout performance, he set a record in the ACC title game by throwing four touchdown passes in a thrilling 34-31 victory over SMU. He also added three touchdown passes in a 38-24 defeat against Texas during the first round of the College Football Playoff, totaling 336 passing yards in that matchup, which marked the highest amount surrendered by the Longhorns this season.

Overall, Klubnik was accountable for 43 touchdowns this season, combining 36 passing and 7 rushing touchdowns. This impressive tally places him closely behind the 44 touchdowns thrown by Miami’s Cam Ward and Washington State’s John Mateer, according to Sportradar.
