ISLAMABAD — On Monday, a tragic incident occurred on a highway in eastern Pakistan when a speeding passenger bus flipped over, resulting in the loss of at least 10 lives, as reported by police officials.

In a separate incident, a collision between a passenger van and a truck on a highway in the Naushahro Feroze district of southern Sindh province claimed the lives of eight individuals, according to local reports.

Authorities attributed both of these accidents to the negligence of the drivers involved.

Following the bus accident in Fateh Jang, Punjab province, seven passengers sustained injuries. The bus was en route from Bahawalpur city to the capital, Islamabad, as indicated by police officer Mohammad Arshad.

Road incidents are a frequent occurrence in Pakistan, where many highways and roads suffer from poor maintenance and traffic regulations are often disregarded. Just last month, a bus transporting wedding guests tragically plunged into the Indus River in northern Pakistan, resulting in 18 fatalities.
