WICHITA, Kan. — Xavier Bell delivered an impressive performance, scoring 29 points in Wichita State’s commanding 87-72 win over Friends University on Sunday afternoon.

Bell showcased his shooting skills by hitting 11 out of 16 attempts from the field, and he was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all five of his shots. The Shockers, now boasting a record of 10-3, also saw Quincy Ballard contribute significantly with 17 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocks. Corey Washington added to the tally with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, further solidifying the team’s standout performance.

For the Falcons, Collin Maclin was the leading scorer with 18 points. Cahlese Lee played his part by adding 11 points and two steals, while Randy Woolf Jr. rounded out the scoring with 10 points, along with five assists and two steals.

Wichita State gained the lead with 8:30 remaining in the first half and never relinquished it. Bell’s remarkable first-half effort, contributing 21 points, was pivotal in putting the Shockers ahead 45-36 at halftime. The team maintained their momentum in the second half, particularly with a powerful 12-1 run that allowed them to increase a nine-point lead to an impressive 20 points, effectively sealing their victory.
