BETHLEHEM, Pa. — On Sunday, Lehigh achieved a strong 87-67 win against Neumann, thanks in large part to Keith Higgins Jr., who scored 22 points.
In addition to his scoring, Higgins contributed with eight rebounds for the Mountain Hawks, who now hold a record of 5-6 this season.
Tyler Whitney-Sidney also had a noteworthy performance, netting 19 points while shooting 7 for 12 and hitting 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, as well as making all three of his free-throw attempts.
Cam Gillus also made a contribution by scoring 10 points in the game.
On the other side, Neumann’s performance was led by Mike Smith III, who scored 15 points.
Gary Francis and DJ Earl each added 12 points; Earl also recorded three steals during the matchup.
The contest was tightly contested as Lehigh entered halftime with a tie score of 42-42, aided by a first-half effort from Higgins, who contributed 13 points before the break.
In the second half, Lehigh seized control of the game, going on a 9-0 run that helped them stretch their lead from nine points to an impressive 18 points, ultimately securing the victory.
