Seattle played host to an impressive display of basketball as the Washington Huskies secured a commanding 90-53 victory over NJIT in their last game before entering the full swing of the Big Ten season. This win also served as a rebound following an unexpected defeat against Seattle University, which ended their lengthy 19-game winning streak against the local rivals.

Great Osobor and Zoom Diallo were instrumental in the Huskies’ triumph, each contributing 12 points to the scoreboard. Osobor wasted no time, making his presence felt right from the start with a three-point play within the first minute. He later added a layup, helping Washington build a substantial 20-point lead by halftime, which ended at 46-26.

The bench for Washington was notably active, with four players scoring at least nine points. Diallo was a standout performer off the bench, contributing not just his 12 points, but also providing five assists and claiming two steals. Wilhelm Briedenbach supported this effort with 10 points and five rebounds, showcasing the depth and strength of the team.

For NJIT, however, it was a challenging outing. Sebastian Robinson struggled on the court, going 5 of 22 from the field and failing to hit any of his four three-point attempts; nevertheless, he led his team with 16 points. Tim Moore Jr. and Ari Fulton also had solid contributions, adding 14 and 11 points respectively.

Looking ahead, the Huskies aim to capture their first victory in the Big Ten Conference after starting the season with two losses. Their next matchup will be against Maryland, followed by a confrontation with No. 24 Illinois on Sunday. Meanwhile, NJIT will return home to face Medgar Evers in their upcoming game on Saturday.
