PHILADELPHIA — Temple University triumphed over Buffalo with a decisive 91-71 victory on Sunday, with Jamal Mashburn Jr. leading the charge by contributing 18 points to the Owls’ effort.

Mashburn showcased an impressive performance, hitting 6 out of 10 shots, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc, and converting 3 of 4 free-throw attempts. Alongside him, Zion Stanford also had a solid game, scoring 15 points with a shooting line of 4 for 9 and successfully making 6 out of 7 free throws. Quante Berry matched Stanford’s point total with 15 of his own, demonstrating excellent efficiency by going 7 for 8 from the field, although he struggled from the line, missing all four of his attempts.

On the opposing side, Buffalo’s efforts were spearheaded by Tyson Dunn, who managed to score 11 points while facilitating four assists. Anquan Boldin Jr. matched Dunn’s tally with 11 points and made an impact on defense, recording three steals. Additionally, Noah Batchelor made a contribution with nine points and six rebounds, providing valuable support to the Bulls but not enough to secure a win.

Temple showcased a strong start and seized the lead with just under six minutes left in the first half, maintaining control throughout the game. They reached halftime ahead by a score of 39-29, with Shane Dezonie contributing seven points. The Owls extended their advantage in the second half, outscoring Buffalo by ten points, led by Mashburn, who tallied another 13 points in the latter period.

The Owls improved their record to 8-5 with this victory, while the Bulls fell to 5-7 on the season.
