COLUMBUS, Ohio — Bruce Thornton delivered an impressive performance with a career-high 33 points as Ohio State defeated Indiana State 103-83 on Sunday. Alongside Thornton, four other players from the Buckeyes contributed significantly, each scoring in double figures.

Thornton exhibited an efficient shooting display, making 11 of his 16 attempts from the field, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. He also excelled at the line, converting 7 of 8 attempts. Ques Glover chipped in 15 points, while both Devin Royal and Aaron Bradshaw added 13 each. John Mobley Jr. also played a key role, finishing with 11 points.

After leading by five points at halftime, Ohio State quickly expanded their advantage to 68-54 just five minutes into the second half. The Buckeyes maintained a comfortable lead, which grew to 12 points roughly six minutes before the final buzzer. Thornton then took control, executing an impressive personal 8-1 run that effectively sealed the victory. He began with two successful free throws following a shooting foul and extended the momentum into a four-point play after a technical foul was called on Indiana State’s Samage Teel. Thornton followed up with a couple of layups, bringing the score to 94-75 with just over four minutes left in the game.

For Indiana State, Jaden Daughtry led the scoring effort with 25 points, shooting 7 of 10 from the field and going 11 for 15 at the charity stripe. Teel contributed 13 points, as did Camp Wagner, while K’mani Doughty added 10 points. The Sycamores struggled with their shooting efficiency overall, despite hitting 9 of 20 from the 3-point range in the first half and finishing the game with 10 out of 28 attempts. Their average stands at 11 successful 3-pointers and about 30 attempts per game.

This matchup marked the first time these two teams faced off against each other. Looking ahead, the Buckeyes are preparing for a challenging stretch, facing three Big Ten opponents over a span of seven days, beginning with a home contest against No. 18 Michigan State on Thursday.
