LOS ANGELES — In a decisive matchup on Saturday evening, Cal State Northridge showcased their dominance with a commanding 87-52 victory over La Sierra, an NAIA team.
Keonte Jones was instrumental in the win, contributing significantly with 20 points. Alongside his scoring, he secured 10 rebounds, provided five assists, and recorded three steals for the Matadors, who now hold a record of 9-4.
Marcus Adams Jr. was another key player, adding 17 points to the scoreboard, shooting an efficient 6 for 11 from the field, including one 3-pointer, and hitting 4 out of 5 free throws. He also helped out on the boards with six rebounds. Mahmoud Fofana made an outstanding contribution as well, finishing the night with 14 points on a perfect shooting record of 6 for 6 from the field, although he did encounter some challenges at the line, going 2 for 5 there. Fofana also contributed defensively with three steals.
For the Golden Eagles, Noel Camejo was the top scorer, racking up 14 points. Maur Tablada followed closely with 13 points, while Anthony Montoya chipped in with nine points along with five assists and two steals, highlighting his all-around performance despite the loss.
