RIVERSIDE, California — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Dominique Daniels Jr. showcased his talent by scoring 25 points, leading California Baptist to a 79-73 triumph over Jackson State.
In addition to his scoring, Daniels also recorded five assists, contributing significantly to the Lancers’ overall performance and improving their record to 7-6. Martel Williams had an impressive outing as well, going 6 for 10 from the field, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, while also making all six of his free-throw attempts to finish with 21 points. Kendal Coleman supported the team’s effort by scoring 15 points, making 5 of 7 shots from the floor and hitting all five of his free throws.
On the opposing side, the struggling Jackson State team, now at 0-13 for the season, found some bright spots in their performance. Dorian McMillian led the Tigers with 20 points along with two steals, while Daeshun Ruffin matched his scoring effort with 20 points and also recorded two steals. Additionally, Shannon Grant contributed 10 points to the effort. The defeat marked the 14th consecutive loss for Jackson State, a streak that began with a setback in the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament.
