CHARLESTON, Ill. — In a dominating performance, Eastern Illinois triumphed over Division-III Blackburn with a final score of 99-55 on Saturday evening.
Zion Fruster was a standout for the Panthers, contributing 15 points, shooting 6 for 11 from the floor, and hitting 1 of his 3 attempts beyond the arc. He also converted 2 of 3 from the free-throw line as the Panthers improved their record to 4-8. Obadiah Curtis matched Fruster’s scoring total, making an impressive 7 of 9 shots from the field. Additionally, the team showcased their defensive prowess with five steals throughout the game. Kooper Jacobi also played a significant role, scoring 13 points on 6 of 9 shooting.
On the other side, Odis Grissom emerged as the top scorer for Blackburn, finishing the game with 19 points. Darius Duff contributed with 7 points and distributed 5 assists, while Caleb Schaab added 7 points and recorded 2 steals for the Beavers.
