The Seattle Seahawks have announced that running back Kenneth Walker III has been placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury sustained during their recent game against Minnesota, which ended in a 27-24 defeat.
Walker had previously missed two games because of a calf issue, and he also dealt with an oblique injury earlier in September.

Throughout the season, Walker has accumulated 573 yards and scored seven touchdowns on 153 carries. He was a second-round draft selection by the Seahawks in 2022 and has recorded a total of 2,528 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns in his career to date.

For their upcoming match against the Chicago Bears, the Seahawks’ list of inactive players includes quarterback Jaren Hall, cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett, tight end Brady Russell, linebacker Patrick O’Connell, offensive tackle Michael Jerrell, and wide receiver Cody White.

On the other side, the Bears will be without offensive lineman Teven Jenkins, who is sidelined due to a calf injury. However, defensive lineman Gervon Dexter, who has been managing a knee issue, is set to play.

The Bears’ inactive list features running back Travis Homer, defensive backs Elijah Hicks and Tarvarius Moore, linebacker Noah Sewell, and defensive lineman Zacch Pickens.

There is a slight chance that Walker could return if the Seahawks manage to win two playoff games, although their chances for postseason play are limited as they head into the matchup with Chicago.
Currently, Seattle holds an 8-7 record and is trailing the leading team in the NFC West, the Los Angeles Rams, by one game with only two games remaining.

For the Seahawks, the most viable route to the playoffs would be to secure wins in their last two regular-season games while hoping the Rams lose against Arizona this Saturday. Seattle’s season finale will see them visiting the Rams.

In light of Walker’s absence, Seattle has signed rookie running back George Holani from their practice squad to bolster their backfield.
