In Columbia, South Carolina, a tragic incident has claimed the life of a 4-year-old boy who was shot while inside a vehicle, according to local authorities. The unfortunate event took place on Tuesday on Harbison Boulevard, as reported by Columbia police through a statement issued on X.

Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene and are currently conducting interviews, including speaking with the boy’s mother, as part of their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The child was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, and the Lexington County coroner has identified him as Jah’el E. Walker.
