HONOLULU — In an exhilarating matchup at the Diamond Head Classic, Nik Graves achieved a personal milestone, scoring a remarkable 31 points, while Giancarlo Rosado contributed substantially with 23 points coming off the bench. The Charlotte 49ers emerged victorious against the Murray State Racers, finishing the game with a score of 94-90 after two exciting overtime periods on Monday night.
Graves had an outstanding performance at the charity stripe, going a perfect 12 for 12, contributing to the 49ers’ impressive overall free-throw performance of 34 made out of 36 attempts. In addition to Graves’ efforts, Robert Braswell IV added 11 points to assist Charlotte in sealing the victory.
Leading the charge for Murray State was Kylen Milton, who scored an impressive 28 points. His efforts were supported by AJ Ferguson, who netted 21 points, and Terence Harcum, who added 17 points to the scoreboard.
The game saw dramatic moments, including Rosado sinking a crucial 3-pointer with just one second left in regulation, which tied the game at 71 and forced overtime. In the first overtime period, Harcum was pivotal for the 49ers, successfully hitting two free throws that tied the game at 80. However, despite his efforts, he couldn’t clinch the game in the second overtime when his last-second 3-point attempt fell short.
