Auburn has officially confirmed the arrival of Eric Singleton Jr., a prominent transfer portal prospect who has led Georgia Tech in receiving for the last two seasons. The announcement was made on Monday, highlighting Singleton’s significance as a vital addition to the team.
Ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the transfer portal and the top receiving talent according to 247Sports, Singleton had an impressive performance last season with 56 receptions totaling 754 yards and three touchdowns. His freshman year was also noteworthy, as he managed to rack up 714 yards and six touchdowns on 48 catches.
Singleton’s addition comes at a crucial time for Auburn as the team looks to fill the void left by KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was the standout receiver last season after moving from Penn State.
In addition to Singleton, Auburn has also secured another transfer, Horatio Fields from Wake Forest. Fields made an impact with the Demon Deacons, catching 39 passes for 463 yards and scoring four touchdowns in his final collegiate season.
Meanwhile, Ohio State has also made headlines by signing West Virginia running back CJ Donaldson. Weighing in at 238 pounds, Donaldson excelled in his junior season, amassing 734 rushing yards and scoring 12 touchdowns, with 11 of those coming from rushing plays. He is regarded as the sixth-best running back in the transfer portal by 247Sports.
With these strategic additions, both Auburn and Ohio State look poised to enhance their offensive capabilities in the upcoming season.
