COLUMBIA, S.C. — Jamari Thomas showcased his shooting skills by sinking four 3-pointers, accumulating a total of 18 points to propel South Carolina to a commanding 74-48 victory against Radford on Sunday.
The Gamecocks, fresh off a thrilling 91-88 victory over No. 25 Clemson, have now secured their sixth consecutive win and have claimed seven victories in their last eight home games.
At halftime, Radford held a slim 36-30 advantage, and Jonas Sirtautas extended their lead to 40-35 with a jumper at the 16:34 mark. However, South Carolina quickly turned the momentum, closing out the game with an impressive 39-8 run.
South Carolina had an outstanding performance at the free-throw line, hitting 25 out of 27 attempts. However, their field goal shooting was less effective, finishing at 39.2% with 20 of 51 attempts, including just 9 of 30 from three-point range. Collin Murray-Boyles contributed significantly with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal, and four blocks. Nick Pringle also had a noteworthy performance, going a perfect 10-for-10 on free throws, adding eight rebounds and four assists.
For Radford (10-5), TJ NeSmith led the charge, connecting on 5 of 8 field goals and successfully making all four of his free-throw attempts. Jarvis Moss contributed with 10 points as well. The Highlanders struggled at the free-throw line, taking only 13 shots and converting eight, while also facing a rebounding deficit, being dominated 42-24 and only managing six offensive rebounds.
Looking ahead, South Carolina will face Presbyterian on December 30, marking the final nonconference game of the season.
