MUNCIE, Ind. — In a commanding performance, Ball State secured an impressive victory over Evansville, winning 80-43 on Saturday, with Payton Sparks coming off the bench to score 20 points.
Sparks contributed significantly to the Cardinals’ success, adding five rebounds to his tally. The Cardinals, now with a record of 5-6, benefitted from solid performances across the roster. Jermahri Hill contributed 13 points, shooting 5 of 14 from the field and struggling with long-range shots, going just 1 for 5 from beyond the arc. Hill also showcased his versatility with eight rebounds and four steals. Jeremiah Hernandez chipped in with 12 points, shooting 3 of 9 overall, including 2 for 3 from three-point territory, along with hitting 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.
For Evansville, which falls to 3-9 after this matchup, Michael Day was the top scorer, finishing with 13 points. Tanner Cuff contributed with 11 points and gathered seven rebounds, while Gui Tesch added five points to the team’s effort.
