MIAMI — During the first quarter of Friday night’s matchup against Oklahoma City, Jimmy Butler appeared to sustain an injury to his left ankle.
As the game progressed, the Heat announced that Butler would not return after the first quarter due to illness, leaving his ankle condition uncertain at the moment.
Butler exited the game with 4:41 remaining in the first quarter, having not scored any points and registering only two assists.
His departure comes on the heels of an outstanding game earlier in the week, where he tallied an impressive 35 points, alongside 19 rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals in a losing effort against Detroit.
At this point, it remains unclear how long Butler may be sidelined due to either the illness or the ankle injury.
The Miami Heat’s upcoming schedule includes a game in Orlando on Saturday, a home game against Brooklyn on Monday, and a return to Orlando later on December 26.
