MIAMI — Notable real estate brokers Oren and Alon Alexander are set to continue their detention following an initial court appearance on Friday in Miami.
The twin brothers had sought to be released on bond after facing serious charges including sex trafficking and gang rape.
However, federal prosecutors contended that they posed a flight risk and presented a threat to public safety, leading Judge Ellen D’Angelo to schedule a detention hearing for December 30.
During the court proceedings, the judge outlined the specific charges against each brother and clarified their legal rights.
It is worth noting that a previous court session saw another judge deny a significant bail request amounting to $115 million, which had been put forward by their elder brother, Tal Alexander.
This proposed arrangement would have allowed all three siblings, recognized figures in the luxury real estate markets of Florida and New York, to be released while awaiting their trial in New York City.
The charges filed against the Alexander brothers, which surfaced last week, include allegations of luring, drugging, and brutally raping multiple women over an extensive period exceeding a decade.
Additionally, both Oren and Alon face state-level accusations in Florida linked to three reported sexual assaults.
Consequently, the three Alexander brothers will continue to be held in custody within Florida’s facilities.
Their legal representatives have refuted the allegations, asserting that any sexual interactions were consensual.
Oren and Tal Alexander garnered recognition for successfully brokering luxurious real estate transactions in New York City and Miami, catering to high-profile clients including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Liam Gallagher, and Lindsay Lohan.
In 2022, they established a new real estate firm named Official.
Meanwhile, Alon Alexander pursued a legal education and later became involved in the family’s private security enterprise.
