The draw for the knockout playoff phase of the UEFA Conference League took place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland, setting the stage for an exciting series of matches.
The first leg of the playoffs is scheduled for February 13, featuring a variety of matchups across Europe. Gent from Belgium will go head-to-head with Spain’s Real Betis, while Serbian side TSC faces off against Jagiellonia Bialystok from Poland.
In another notable match, Celje from Slovenia will compete against APOEL from Cyprus. Icelandic team Víkingur will take on Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos, and Borac Banja Luka from Bosnia-Herzegovina is set to play against Slovenia’s Olimpija Ljubljana.
Additionally, Omonoia and Pafos, both from Cyprus, will clash. Norway’s Molde will face off against Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers, and Copenhagen from Denmark will encounter Heidenheim from Germany.
The second leg of these matchups will occur one week later on February 20. This will see Real Betis at home against Gent, while Jagiellonia Bialystok will host TSC.
APOEL will welcome Celje, and Panathinaikos will take on Víkingur at their own venue. Olimpija Ljubljana will battle Borac Banja Luka in Slovenia, and Pafos will host Omonoia for an all-Cypriot affair.
Lastly, Shamrock Rovers will look to defend their home ground against Molde, while Heidenheim has a challenging task as they host Copenhagen.
As for teams that have already secured their places in the round of 16, the following clubs have qualified: Chelsea from England, Vitoria Guimaraes of Portugal, Fiorentina representing Italy, and Austria’s Rapid Vienna.
Joining them are Djurgarden from Sweden, Lugano from Switzerland, Legia Warsaw of Poland, and Cercle Brugge from Belgium, making for a highly competitive matchup in the upcoming knockout rounds.
