In a thrilling start to the Ohio Valley Conference season, Morehead State edged out UT Martin with a final score of 70-69, thanks to a clutch performance by Jerone Morton, who contributed 18 points including the decisive basket in overtime.

Morton also facilitated the Eagles’ offense by dishing out seven assists during the game. Tyler Brelsford supported the team with 13 points, although he struggled with his shot, finishing 4 for 12 overall and hitting just one of six attempts from beyond the arc. Nevertheless, Brelsford was perfect at the free-throw line, making all four attempts, and he secured five rebounds. Steven Clay played a vital role as well, scoring 11 points on 3 of 6 shooting, with a successful three-point shot rate of 60%.
