— In an exciting match on Thursday, Bernard Pelote stood out for Western Carolina, scoring 24 points and contributing nine rebounds as the Catamounts triumphed over Milligan with a final score of 78-69.
Pelote’s performance was pivotal in helping his team improve their record to 4-7 for the season.
Alongside him, Cord Stansberry also made a significant impact, putting up 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
Brandon Morgan added to the score with 12 points, showcasing his ability to convert free throws effectively by sinking 7 out of 8 attempts, although he faced challenges from the field, hitting only 2 of his 6 shots and 1 of 4 from the three-point mark.
On the opposite end, Elijah Bredwood led Milligan in scoring with a commendable 23 points.
He was supported by McCaskill Rivers, who contributed 13 points, and Handje Tamba, who not only scored 12 points but also secured 12 rebounds, marking a notable double-double performance.
