Binghamton edges out Mercyhurst 62-60 thanks to Chris Walker’s decisive basket.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — In a nail-biting finish, Chris Walker secured a last-second victory for Binghamton, sinking a layup just as the buzzer sounded, leading to a close 62-60 win over Mercyhurst on Wednesday night.

Walker was positioned to inbound the ball with only 2.1 seconds remaining on the clock. Wes Peterson Jr. caught the pass in the paint and immediately returned it to Walker, who was wide open for an easy layup.

Tymu Chenery led the scoring for Binghamton, contributing 19 points, while Walker added 17 points to the scoreboard. Nehemiah Benson also played a key role, going 5 for 6 from the field and finishing with 12 points.

For Mercyhurst, Jeff Planutis topped the team’s scoring effort with 13 points. Shemar Rathan-Mayes provided solid support as well, recording 12 points, four assists, and two steals. Aidan Reichert also had a notable performance, notching 11 points, collecting seven rebounds, and blocking two shots.
