A man from Alabama has admitted guilt to capital murder charges stemming from the deaths of seven individuals, a case that has been tied to conflicts involving a motorcycle club known as the “Seven Deadly Sins.” John Michael Legg entered his plea during a court session, as reported by WAFF-TV. This plea occurred shortly after a judge confirmed his mental competence to proceed to trial, according to court documentation.
The tragic discovery was made on June 5, 2020, when authorities found the bodies of three women and four men inside a residence that had been set ablaze. A dog was also discovered dead within the home. The incident took place in Valhermoso Springs, a small community located approximately 20 miles south of Huntsville, Alabama.
Frederic Rogers, who faced charges related to the same crime, was found guilty of capital murder earlier this year and has received a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors have indicated that both Legg and Rogers were members of the motorcycle club, the Seven Deadly Sins, and that their involvement in a dispute with the residents of the home ultimately led to the tragic events. Those identified as victims included Tammy England Muzzey, 45, Emily Brooke Payne, 21, Roger Lee Jones Jr., 19, Jeramy Wade Roberts, 31, William Zane Hodgin, 18, James Wayne Benford, 22, and a teenage girl who was just 17 years old.
