BEREA, Ohio — Nick Chubb, the running back for the Cleveland Browns, has been moved to injured reserve as of Wednesday, officially concluding his season after previously dealing with a significant knee injury last year.

Chubb sustained a broken foot during the second half of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs that ended with a score of 21-7. The four-time Pro Bowler had accumulated 332 rushing yards and four touchdowns over the eight games he played this season.

This marks the second consecutive season in which Chubb has found himself on injured reserve. He faced a left knee injury in the second week of the 2023 campaign while playing against Pittsburgh, but made a remarkable recovery and marked his return on October 20 in a matchup against Cincinnati.

On Sunday, Chubb did not address the media after the game, leaving the facility using crutches and a walking boot. Coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that he does not anticipate that Chubb will require surgery, stating that he expects Chubb to make a complete recovery.

As the Browns currently hold a record of 3-11, they restructured Chubb’s contract prior to the start of this season. Although he will be eligible to enter free agency at the end of this season, Chubb has shown a desire to spend his entire career with the Browns, where he has become one of the franchise’s most beloved players.

Since being drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Chubb has gained a total of 6,843 rushing yards. He ranks third on the Browns’ all-time rushing list, trailing behind Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly. In the previous season, Chubb rushed for a remarkable 1,525 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. Throughout his seven-year career, he has maintained an impressive average of 5.1 yards per carry.
