SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — In a thrilling college basketball matchup on Tuesday, Jarred Hyder delivered an outstanding performance, netting 29 points to help Cal Poly secure a narrow 95-94 victory over Denver in overtime.

Hyder’s impressive play included contributing five rebounds for the Mustangs, who improved their record to 6-7. Owen Koonce also shined for Cal Poly, scoring 21 points. He had an efficient shooting night, converting 6 of 16 attempts from the field, while making 3 out of 10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line, to go along with another five rebounds.

Mac Riniker contributed significantly, finishing with 13 points after connecting on 4 of 7 shots from the field and going 5 for 9 at the free-throw line. He also provided key defensive support with seven rebounds and four steals, further aiding in the Mustangs’ win.

On the other side, Nicholas Shogbonyo emerged as the top scorer for the Pioneers (6-8), recording 22 points along with seven rebounds. His teammate, DeAndre Craig, matched him in scoring with another 22 points and contributed six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
