KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent — In a dominant display, Taskin Ahmed claimed three wickets for just 16 runs, helping propel Bangladesh to a 27-run victory over the West Indies in the second match of their T20 series on Tuesday. This win gave Bangladesh a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Shamim Hossain, who was awarded player of the match, contributed significantly to the team’s score, finishing with an unbeaten 35 runs off only 17 deliveries. The visiting team completed their innings at 129-7, despite facing two interruptions due to rain. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played a crucial role, adding 26 runs to the total, while Gudakesh Motie was the standout bowler for the West Indies, taking 2 wickets for 25 runs.

The West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first but struggled dramatically, getting bowled out for a mere 102 in just 18.3 overs. Roston Chase was the top scorer for the home team, managing 32 runs as they forebodingly lost their last four wickets for just 13 runs.

Having previously suffered a whitewash in the ODI series, where they lost all three matches, Bangladesh managed to clinch the first T20 match by a narrow margin of seven runs on Sunday. The teams are set to clash again on Thursday in the final match of the series, also taking place in St. Vincent.
