GREENVILLE, N.C. — In a solid performance, C.J. Walker led the East Carolina Pirates to a 75-64 victory over the Florida International Panthers on Tuesday night, scoring an impressive 23 points.
In addition to his scoring, Walker made significant contributions on the boards, collecting 10 rebounds. Teammate Joran Riley also had a strong showing, contributing 16 points with an effective shooting display, hitting 7 out of 13 attempts from the floor, alongside six rebounds and three steals. Yann Farell added to the team’s success with 14 points, successfully making 5 of 8 shots, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc.
The Panthers, who now have a record of 4-7, saw Jayden Brewer take charge as their leading scorer with 20 points, alongside four assists and two steals. Jonathan Aybar supported the effort with 16 points and seven rebounds, contributing two steals as well. Meanwhile, Asim Jones also provided a valuable offensive boost with 13 points and four assists.
East Carolina headed into halftime with a 35-29 advantage, bolstered by Riley’s 12 points during the first half. The game shifted in favor of the Pirates when Walker hit a critical 3-pointer with 13 minutes left in the second half, securing a lead they would not relinquish at 47-44.
