The standout player for Week 6 in women’s basketball has been recognized as Hannah Hidalgo from Notre Dame.
This sophomore guard delivered an impressive performance by scoring 29 points, gathering 10 rebounds, and providing eight assists in a significant victory against then-No. 2 UConn last Thursday.
This game marked her 17th time in her career achieving at least 20 points, five assists, and five rebounds in a match, showcasing her versatility and skill.
In that game, she also sank six three-pointers, further contributing to her team’s success.
She continued her strong play by scoring 27 points in another match against Eastern Michigan, making it the second occasion this season that she has earned this prestigious award.

In the runner-up position was Khamil Pierre from Vanderbilt.
The sophomore forward had an exemplary outing, accumulating 42 points, 18 rebounds, and making eight steals as her team triumphed over Evansville with a score of 106-40.
Pierre’s 42 points not only propelled her team to victory but also set a new school record for the most points scored in a single game, surpassing the previous record of 41 set by Chantelle Anderson in 2001 and Ciaja Harbison in 2023.
Remarkably, she scored 20 of those points in just the first quarter, and she has now joined the ranks of only five Division I women’s basketball players over the last 25 years to record at least 40 points, 15 rebounds, and five steals in a game.

Honorable mentions this week go to Aaliyah Alexander from UNLV, Audi Crooks from Iowa State, and Serah Williams from Wisconsin.
Players to watch include East Carolina forward Amiya Joyner, who played a key role in leading her team to two road victories against Hampton and Old Dominion.
In a thrilling finish, she scored 27 points and secured the game-winning layup with just six seconds left in overtime, resulting in a narrow 59-58 victory.
Joyner also contributed significantly with 17 rebounds and four assists in that match.
