Central Arkansas secured a narrow victory over The Citadel with a final score of 73-71 on Monday evening, thanks in large part to Layne Taylor’s impressive performance.
Taylor not only scored 21 points but also recorded five steals, playing a vital role in the Bears’ (3-8) success.
Elias Cato also made significant contributions with 19 points, achieving an efficient shooting performance, going 5 of 10 from the field and an impeccable 8 of 8 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing five rebounds.
Brayden Fagbemi added depth to the team’s performance with nine points, although he struggled a bit, shooting 4 for 14 overall and just 1 for 6 from three-point range. Fagbemi also had five rebounds and managed to dish out seven assists during the game.
On the other side, the Bulldogs (5-5) were led by Paxton Davidson, who tallied 23 points along with four assists and two steals, showcasing his all-round game.
Colby McAllister provided solid support for The Citadel, contributing 15 points and collecting six rebounds.
