TORONTO — On Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays announced several new additions to their coaching staff, welcoming Graham Johnson as the bullpen coach, Sam Greene as the assistant pitching coach, and Lou Iannotti as the assistant hitting coach.
Graham Johnson, age 39, comes to the Blue Jays after serving as the pitching coach for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, a team in the New York Yankees’ organization, for the past three years.
Sam Greene, who is 27, has been part of the Blue Jays’ organization since 2021 and held the position of senior pitching research specialist this past season, contributing valuable insights into the team’s pitching strategies.
Lou Iannotti, 32, previously spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Most recently, he was the hitting coach for Double-A Tulsa in 2023 and also served as the major league hitting coordinator for the Dodgers, who clinched the World Series title this year.
In addition to these new appointments, the Blue Jays hired David Popkins in October as the hitting coach, working alongside manager John Schneider. The existing coaching staff also consists of bench coach Don Mattingly, associate manager DeMarlo Hale, pitching coach Pete Walker, first base coach Mark Budzinski, third base coach Carlos Febles, assistant hitting coach Hunter Mense, and mental performance coach John Lannan.
