MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings cornerback Stephon Gilmore did not participate in the game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night due to a hamstring injury, marking his second consecutive absence from the field.

Gilmore sustained the injury on December 1 and was initially listed as questionable for the matchup. However, he was only able to practice on a limited basis for the first time on Friday prior to the game. In his absence, Shaquill Griffin is expected to take on a prominent role, with Fabian Moreau also stepping up to fill in as needed.

On the Bears’ side, running back D’Andre Swift was cleared to play despite being listed as questionable because of a groin issue. However, his backup, Roschon Johnson, was declared out for the game, joining starting left tackle Braxton Jones and backup guard Ryan Bates, all of whom are dealing with concussions. Notably, Jones was added to the injury report on Sunday, further complicating the Bears’ situation. Additionally, starting defensive lineman Gervon Dexter has also been ruled out due to a knee injury.
