Barcelona, Spain — The young forward Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona is anticipated to be out of action for approximately three to four weeks due to an ankle injury, as reported by the club on Monday.
The 17-year-old player has sustained a grade-one injury to his right ankle, which he incurred during the team’s recent 1-0 defeat to Leganes at home in the Spanish league. Yamal was substituted in the 75th minute of that match due to the injury.
Yamal will miss upcoming fixtures, including an important match against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league on Saturday, as well as a Copa del Rey encounter in January against the lower-tier team Barbastro. Additionally, it is unclear whether he will be ready to participate in the January match against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup, which will take place in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this season, Yamal had already been sidelined due to a right-ankle injury, which not only affected his club appearances but also limited his participation with the national team of Spain.
