AUSTIN, Texas — In a dominant display, the Texas Longhorns trampled Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a staggering score of 121-57 on Sunday, with Nic Codie leading the charge by scoring a personal best of 20 points.
This remarkable performance saw eight Texas players reach double-digit points, showcasing their offensive strength against the Golden Lions, who endured their tenth consecutive defeat on the road.
The Longhorns had notable contributions from several players, including Jordan Pope, Chendall Weaver, and Kadin Shedrick, who all set new season highs in scoring. Texas exhibited impressive shooting as they connected on 62.9% of their shots from the field, hitting 44 of 70 attempts, including a remarkable 17 three-pointers.
Texas started the game explosively, with Pope and Arthur Kaluma sinking three-pointers in the first two minutes, propelling the team to a 38-8 lead within the first ten minutes. By halftime, the Longhorns had extended their lead to 40 points, finishing the first half at 66-26.
Cody had an efficient scoring night, converting 8 of 10 shots, making both of his attempts from beyond the arc, and hitting both free throws.
