Northeastern secures a 75-71 victory over Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. — Northeastern secured a hard-fought victory over Old Dominion with a final score of 75-71, largely thanks to Rashad King’s impressive performance, where he scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Alongside King, LA Pratt contributed significantly with 15 points, shooting 7 for 14 from the floor, while also collecting six rebounds. Masai Troutman also shined, netting 15 points by going 4 for 7 from the field and making 7 of 9 free throws, although he struggled with his three-point shooting, missing all three attempts.

On the opposing side, Robert Davis Jr. was the standout player for the Monarchs, scoring 17 points while also securing six rebounds. Caelum Swanton-Rodger supported the team with 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Sean Durugordon rounded out the scoring with ten points.

During the first half, Harold Woods made a valuable contribution to Northeastern with seven points, helping the team take a slim lead of 31-26 at halftime. As the second half progressed, Northeastern extended their lead from four to 13 points following a swift 9-0 run, bringing the score to 52-39 with 9:50 remaining in the game. King was particularly effective in the second half, contributing 14 points to secure the win.

Northeastern will look to build on this performance as they prepare for their next game against UMass this Wednesday on the road. Meanwhile, Old Dominion is set to face UL Monroe on Saturday.
