Bobby Durkin’s stellar performance, contributing 19 points, was instrumental in Davidson’s commanding 86-51 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday night.
Durkin also recorded five rebounds for the Wildcats, who improved their record to 8-2. Reed Bailey was another standout, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Connor Kochera matched Bailey’s scoring output with 17 points on an impressive 8-for-10 shooting performance.
For the Titans, Legend Geeter led the team with 17 points and managed two steals. Grant Gondrezick II and Nate Johnson also made their mark, contributing 13 and 10 points, respectively, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Davidson’s strong showing.
Davidson established their dominance early in the game, taking the lead just 17 minutes into the first half and never looking back. At halftime, the scoreboard reflected a substantial 43-16 advantage for the Wildcats, with Durkin leading the charge with a total of 13 points before the break.
