LYNCHBURG, Va. — On Saturday night, Owen Aquino showcased an impressive performance, scoring 28 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, guiding the Liberty Flames to an 83-74 triumph over the North Carolina A&T Aggies. This victory marked the Flames’ seventh consecutive win in the season.
Zach Cleveland also contributed significantly for Liberty (10-1), contributing 12 points, alongside five rebounds and seven assists. Jay Maughmer matched Cleveland’s scoring total with 12 points of his own.
The Aggies (3-8) found their top scorer in Ryan Forrest, who netted 21 points during the game. Landon Glasper also had a strong showing with 20 points, while Jahnathan Lamothe added a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, continuing the team’s unfortunate streak of six straight losses.
Liberty seized control of the game late in the first half, taking the lead with just 52 seconds left before halftime and maintaining their advantage throughout the second half.
