In a thrilling contest, St. Bonaventure emerged victorious over Providence with a final score of 74-70 on Saturday evening, thanks in part to an outstanding performance from Melvin Council Jr., who scored 24 points.
Council also contributed defensively with three steals, showcasing his all-around skills for the Bonnies, who improved their record to 10 wins and 1 loss this season.
Noel Brown played a significant role as well, adding 16 points while hitting 6 out of 11 attempts from the field and converting 4 of his 5 free throw attempts. Alongside his scoring prowess, he secured eight rebounds.
Lajae Jones was another key player for St. Bonaventure, contributing 15 points, exhibiting remarkable accuracy with his shooting—3 of 4 from the floor and a perfect 8 for 8 at the charity stripe.
