Dockery scores 27 as Howard defeats UNC Wilmington 88-83

    Washington – Marcus Dockery shone brightly for Howard as he delivered an impressive performance, scoring 27 points to lead the Bison to an 88-83 victory over UNC Wilmington on Saturday.

    In addition to his scoring prowess, Dockery contributed seven assists, helping his team achieve a record of 5-6. Blake Harper also had a notable game, putting up 18 points while hitting 5 of 11 shots overall, including a solid 3 for 4 effort from beyond the arc. He also secured seven rebounds. Joshua Strong matched Harper’s output with 18 points, making 4 of 7 from the field and an excellent 4 for 6 from three-point range, along with a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.

    On the opposing side, the Seahawks, holding a record of 7-3, were powered by Khamari McGriff, who led his team with an impressive 34 points. Sean Moore contributed 13 points, while Harlan Obioha added another 12 points for UNC Wilmington.

    The turning point of the game came when Howard executed a 12-2 run in the second half, overcoming a four-point deficit to take the lead at 82-76 with just 2:14 left on the clock, ultimately sealing their victory. Harper was particularly effective in the latter half, netting 12 points during that stretch.

    Next up for Howard is a home game against Drexel on Tuesday, while UNC Wilmington will host FGCU on Wednesday.
