Brice Williams delivered an impressive performance for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, scoring a season-best 30 points and contributing significantly during a critical 21-4 stretch that enabled Nebraska to secure an 85-68 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers in a Big Ten Conference matchup on Friday evening.

With 9:57 remaining in the game, Indiana’s Kanaan Carlyle managed to tie the score at 64-64. However, the Hoosiers only managed to add a three-pointer from Luke Goode and a single free throw from Malik Reneau in the remaining minutes. Nebraska, fueled by Williams’ energy, initiated a finishing surge that began with his layup. A subsequent three-pointer from Williams, followed by another from Juwan Gary, helped the Cornhuskers extend their lead to 78-67.

Williams had previously scored just 11 points in Nebraska’s loss to the now-ranked No. 21 team, Michigan State, showcasing a remarkable turnaround this game. He demonstrated exceptional shooting accuracy, making 10 of his 15 attempts from the field, including 2 of 3 from three-point range, and converting 8 of 11 attempts from the free-throw line. Along with his scoring, he also recorded six rebounds and five assists. The Cornhuskers, enhancing their record to 7-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play, shot an impressive 61.2% from the field (30 of 49), plus 57.1% from three-point territory (8 of 14). Other notable contributions came from Juwan Gary with 14 points, Connor Essegian with 13, and Andrew Morgan adding 10 points.

Myles Rice led the Hoosiers with a solid 20 points and also made four steals, although Indiana struggled offensively throughout the game. The team ended with a field goal percentage of 35.4%, making only 23 of their 65 attempts, and was notably ineffective from the three-point line, hitting only 8 of 35 (22.9%). Malik Reneau finished the game with 12 points, while Trey Galloway added 10 points to his team’s efforts. Oumar Ballo also had a noteworthy performance, grabbing 11 rebounds alongside his eight points scored.
