Taylor Swift made an unexpected visit to a children’s hospital in Kansas City, delighting both parents and young patients. During her stop, she engaged in heartfelt conversations, took photos, and even exchanged gifts with those she met.
Parents were left in disbelief after receiving a simple recommendation to tidy up a bit for a special guest, only to be surprised by Swift’s arrival. Just before her 35th birthday and after wrapping up her Eras Tour, the artist walked into the room of Beckett Thomas, a 13-year-old cancer patient.
Cassie Thomas, Beckett’s mother, shared her astonishment, stating, “No rumors. Like, we literally had absolutely no idea this was happening.” Beckett, a fan of Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has taken to using a 3D printer to create earrings featuring his name and that of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which he sells to nurses around the hospital.
As a keepsake from this unique encounter, Swift received a pair of earrings made by Beckett. “She was amazing,” remarked his mother, adding that Swift was incredibly approachable.
One of the hospital’s young patients shared with Swift that “Love Story” was her favorite song, sparking a delightful conversation about another track, “Paper Rings.” During their chat, the topic shifted to San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy, who faced off against the Chiefs in the recent Super Bowl. Swift’s reaction to Purdy’s mention was full of surprise and humor.
“Brock Purdy, What? I mean, I don’t mind Brock Purdy,” she stated, playfully recalling the intensity of that day. Prior to the Super Bowl, Purdy had indicated he was ready to disappoint Swift if needed. The game concluded with Mahomes leading the Chiefs to victory with a nail-biting score of 25-22 in overtime.
Reflecting on the game, Swift noted, “I was very stressed for a second but it all ended up fine.” The girl then boldly announced her newfound appreciation for Travis, to which Swift enthusiastically responded, “Me too. That’s an absolute yes on that one.”
As of now, it remains unclear if Swift will attend the Chiefs’ upcoming game against the Browns in Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland.
