SEC coaches select Sampson and Kennard as Players of the Year, with Beamer honored as Coach of the Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Coaches from the Southeastern Conference have recognized Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson as the league’s offensive player of the year and South Carolina’s Kyle Kennard as the defensive player of the year.
This announcement was made on Wednesday as the SEC unveiled the individual accolades determined by a vote of the 16 head coaches in the conference. South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer received the title of coach of the year.
In addition, Kentucky’s Alex Raynor was honored as the special teams player of the year. LaNorris Sellers, the quarterback for South Carolina, was selected as the top freshman player, while Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia has been named the newcomer of the year.
Furthermore, Texas’ Kelvin Banks Jr. and LSU’s Will Campbell were co-recipients of the prestigious Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
On the same day, a separate set of All-SEC awards and teams were announced, with Sampson, Kennard, and Beamer also securing the same distinctions.
