California has appointed Bryan Harsin, the former head coach at Auburn and Boise State, as their new offensive coordinator.
Coach Justin Wilcox made the announcement on Tuesday, emphasizing Harsin’s responsibility for improving the team’s offensive output as well as coaching the quarterbacks.
This partnership marks a continuation of a successful collaboration between Wilcox and Harsin, who previously worked together at Boise State from 2006 to 2009, where they helped the Broncos achieve an impressive 49-4 record.

“Coach Harsin is among the top offensive minds in football, and we are thrilled to have him join us at Cal,” Wilcox stated.
He added that his long-standing relationship and shared coaching experiences with Harsin would contribute significantly to the team’s success.
Wilcox expressed confidence that Harsin’s proven track record and expertise would bring immediate benefits to both the offense and the recruiting efforts.

Prior to this, Harsin coached Arkansas State for a single season in 2013, returning to Boise State as head coach the following year.
Over seven seasons with the Broncos, he built a strong program before moving to Auburn in 2021, where his tenure included a 9-12 record that concluded with his dismissal during his second year.
Harsin boasts a commendable career coaching record of 85 wins and 36 losses.

The Golden Bears are currently sitting at 6-6 for the season and notably ranked 13th in the ACC for scoring, averaging 26.1 points per game under the previous coordinator, Mike Bloesch.
The team is optimistic that Harsin’s leadership will translate to greater offensive efficiency and success as they move forward.
