Diego Gomez of Inter Miami set to join Brighton in the Premier League

Brighton & Hove Albion has confirmed the acquisition of 21-year-old midfielder Diego Gomez from Inter Miami, with the player set to finalize his transfer on January 1.
Although the club did not reveal the transfer fee or the duration of Gomez’s contract, it highlights the player’s role in helping Miami secure a spot in the MLS playoffs this season.

Brighton’s technical director, David Weir, praised Gomez as a “dynamic midfielder” capable of delivering both goals and assists, expressing confidence that his physical attributes will serve him well as he adapts to the demands of the Premier League.

The Paraguayan international made waves this summer during the Paris Olympics, further solidifying his reputation.
“He has already made a significant impact at both the club and international levels,” commented Brighton’s head coach, Fabian Hurzeler.
Hurzeler acknowledged that while Gomez may need time to acclimate to the Premier League’s rigor, he is optimistic about the contributions the young talent can make and looks forward to collaborating with him.

Currently, Brighton holds the seventh position in the Premier League table and is in contention for a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.
