ARLINGTON, Texas — The roof at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, has been opened without any issues for the upcoming Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
This marks the first occasion since October 30, 2022, that the roof will be open during a game, when the Cowboys secured a 49-29 win over the Chicago Bears.
Initially, the plan was to have the roof open for a game three weeks ago against the Houston Texans. However, during the roof’s opening process, a sizable metal piece along with debris fell approximately 300 feet onto the field about three hours prior to kickoff.
Due to this incident, the Cowboys opted to close the roof for that game, and fortunately, there were no injuries reported, nor was there any delay in starting the game.
Following the event, the organization announced it would conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the falling debris, with the intention of reopening the roof once safety could be assured.
It was reported that high winds were a contributing factor to the incident, as there were gusts reaching 30 mph earlier that afternoon. On the day of the Bengals game, however, the weather was pleasant with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, accompanied by winds around 10 mph.
