VALLEY, Ala. — A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning when a bus transporting individuals to a school for disabled adults and children was involved in a serious multi-vehicle accident in east Alabama.

The collision took place just before 7 a.m. in Lee County, according to reports from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Corbin Hamby Jr., a 49-year-old passenger aboard the Valley Haven bus, and 53-year-old Tyrone Williams, who was driving a Ford F-150 that was part of the crash, both lost their lives at the scene, as confirmed by Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton.

The bus was associated with Valley Haven School, which offers daytime educational programs for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and provides early intervention services for children, as stated by Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones.

Officials have not yet disclosed any details regarding the cause of the accident, which is currently under investigation.
