ANKARA, Turkey — On Monday, a tragic incident unfolded as two Turkish military helicopters collided midair, resulting in the crash of one of the aircraft. This unfortunate event claimed the lives of five military personnel onboard, according to an official source. Fortunately, the second helicopter managed to land without incident.

Reports indicate that there was also one individual who sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital, as relayed by Governor Abdullah Erin to private television channel NTV.

The collision took place in the Isparta province, located in the southwestern part of the country, during a routine training operation, according to Governor Erin. Among the deceased was a brigadier general who held the position of commander at the aviation school, highlighting the gravity of the loss.

As of now, the exact circumstances leading to the collision have not been clarified. Governor Erin confirmed that authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of this tragic accident.
