EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — In an impressive display of skill, Ray’Sean Taylor scored 27 points while Ring Malith contributed with 24 points and 10 rebounds, leading SIU Edwardsville to a convincing 82-69 victory over Ball State on Sunday.
Taylor’s performance showcased his ability to shoot, as he connected on 9 of his 22 attempts from the field, including a remarkable 7 out of 15 from beyond the arc. Malith also had a notable game, hitting 7 of his 13 shots and excelling at the free-throw line where he made 9 of 10 attempts.
Brian Taylor II added to the Cougars’ score with 13 points, making 5 out of 8 field goals and 2 of 4 from the free-throw stripe, further solidifying the team’s offensive effort.
For the Cardinals (3-6), Juan Sebastian Gorosito was the standout player, leading his team with 17 points. Ben Hendriks contributed significantly as well, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for Ball State.
