OXFORD, Miss. — Madison Scott led the way with 16 points, while Kennedy Todd-Williams contributed 15, as the 18th-ranked Mississippi team secured a commanding 85-38 win over Tennessee State on Sunday.
Scott was effective, converting 7 of her 12 field goals, including a three-pointer, along with nine rebounds for the Rebels (6-3), who maintained their perfect home record at 4-0. Todd-Williams shot 4 for 10 from the field with one three-pointer and made all six of her free-throw attempts, adding seven rebounds to her performance.
In addition, Sira Thienou and bench player Rhema Collins each scored 12 points for Ole Miss.
On the other side, XaiOnna Whitfield was the top scorer for the Tigers (4-6) with 10 points, as the team continues to struggle on the road with a record of 1-6. Somah Kamara added nine points but had a tough night shooting, finishing 3 for 15.
Scott set the tone early, scoring seven points in the first quarter, which propelled Ole Miss to a 23-8 lead. By halftime, Scott had tallied 12 points in just 13 minutes of action, helping the Rebels hold a commanding 44-19 advantage.
The second half saw Ole Miss dominate further, outscoring Tennessee State 41-19.
The Rebels now boast a 4-0 record over the all-time series against the Tigers. Their first meeting in 1983 ended with an impressive 110-65 victory for Ole Miss, where they set a school record by making 38 free throws—a mark that still stands today. The last matchup between the two teams occurred in 2013.
Next, Mississippi will prepare to host South Alabama next Sunday, while Tennessee State will have a break before facing Southern Indiana on December 19.
