LYNCHBURG, Va. — Kaden Metheny showcased an impressive performance, scoring 22 points as Liberty extended their winning streak to six games by defeating Mississippi Valley State 89-52 on Saturday evening.

Metheny displayed excellent shooting skills, making 7 of 10 shots from the field, which included 6 for 9 from beyond the arc. Teammate Brett Decker Jr. contributed significantly with four successful 3-pointers, finishing the game with 16 points. Isaiah Ihnen also made his mark on the scoreboard with 12 points, adding depth to the Flames’ offense.

On the side of the Delta Devils, Donovan Sanders was the leading scorer with 14 points. Meanwhile, Alvin Stredic Jr. posted a notable performance with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Walter Hamilton matched his teammate’s scoring by adding another 10 points.

Liberty took control early in the game, gaining the lead just 18 minutes and 43 seconds into the first half and maintaining it throughout the match. By halftime, the Flames had established a commanding 40-16 lead with Metheny tallying 16 points before the break.
